I am doing an english assignment on WDW for adults, its like a travel guide. So I am asking if any of the grown up members of VFKFF will say what they like to do at WDW and if you kids know what your parents do when they go to WDW please post.
    Thanks a bunch!

What a fun paper to do. It will be interesting to see what all the adults like about the park.

I always make sure to ride the Haunted Mansion. It was my favorite ride as a kid and still my favorite today. When we get to go to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, I try to ride it as close to midnight as possible. I also make sure I never leave the park without having a Dole Whip frozen treat.

I like to ride Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear and the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor and stay for the fireworks show at the Magic Kingdom. At Disney Hollywood Studios I like the Tower of Terror, Rockin' Roller Coaster and the new Toy Story Mania ride. Fantasmic is also awesome. At Epcot I always go on Test Track and Soarin'. I also like to walk all the way around the World Showcase there and go in the Mexican Pavillion. I also like to stay for the Illuminations fireworks show. Finally, at the Animal Kingdom I always have to go on the Kilimanjaro Safaris because my daughter works there...woot! Next on the list is Expedition Everest, then the Dinosaur ride. If the line isn't too bad, the Little Nemo live show is fantastic! Hope that helps you with your paper! Have fun! It sounds like a fun project. woot

Aww! I wish I had been to WDW more often! Only been there once in my life. But having grown up at Disneyland (my very first rollercoaster was Space Mountain), I did have some priorities when I finally made it there.
I had to go on Space Mountain (sorry, Disneyland's is way better), I had to check out every inch of the Magic Kingdom (just to compare, the original is still the best
Rolling Eyes ), and I really wanted to go on Expedition Everest (which was awesome!!!), and the Tower of Terror was a definite.
I was sadly disappointed that they didn't have an Indiana Jones ride (my second favorite at DLR) and I missed the Fireworks and Fantasmic (little kids are so not fun for the late night Disney experience rofl ) but those are a must for me at Disneyland.
Silly as it may seem, the shopping is also super important to me. At Disneyland, Main Street stays open an hour after all the rides close, so that is when I do all my shopping popcorn . I collect Winnie the Pooh and love getting new "comfy" sweatshirts from Disneyland. The shopping is a fun tradition for me going back to when I was little and allowed to pick out one souvenir for that visit. So of course I had to do that in every park we went to at WDW

Im an adult who has been to WDW 5 times (4 with no kids at all) and Disneyland probably abut 30 or 40 times almost always with out kids since they are now grown.

The first thing I love at all parks is riding the rides.
    My most favorite is:
    At Disneyland: Space Mountain
    At DCA: California Screeming
At Magic Kingdom FL: Big Thunder
    At Epcot: Mission Space
    At MGM: Rockin Roller Coaster
    At Animal Kingdom: Expedition Everest
As adults we love the big rides :-)

I also like to take in as many shows as I can. Aladain at DCA and Lion King at Animal Kingdom are my absolute favorites.

I dont always get to catch the parades but I do love watching them.
I thik my most favorite park Is Epcot. I love seeing bits of each Country in World showcase and I love the Innoventions when they bring in new technology. I can spend hours doing that sort of learning. we also have eaten our way around the world sampling different foods over the years.

Ive never been into the night life scene at WDW like pleasure Island. I prefer to spend my time at Disneyquest if I go to Downtown. (I know all a mute point now that Pleasure Island is closing)

When I go in the summer time I prefer Typhoon Lagoon to Blizard beach. I love the big waves alternating with bobbing waves. My husband loves the shark swim which he wont get me into for nothing.

Anyway I guess you can say we act like kids there too :-) Rolling Eyes

I’m an adult who has been to WDW usually 2x a year since the mid 70's with my family (boys are grown now). The first thing I love at all parks is people watching , it is so much fun watching those entering the park the first time especially the little ones seeing their little eyes open wide and the lovely smiles on their face ( sometimes tears of joy also ) seeing the magical place come alive for them. It always seems that we have met some of the most interesting people from all over the world and have lovely discussions with them , some have visited other Disney parks ( Tokyo, Paris , Hong Kong places I dream of visiting some day ) comparing the differences of the parks , cultures etc

We also enjoy riding the rides at each park; really don’t have a favorite just all of them! Finding new meals to try at all the Fantastic restaurants at each park and anxiously await new ones to open to try. We try to eat at the newest ones as soon as we can after they open. But we do have our must dining venues each trip. LOL food is very important to my big guys!

The shows are marvelous, giving our poor old feet a chance to rest from pounding the pavements of the parks and are very entertaining. My favorite there is Beauty and the Beast. Even the pre-shows have many very talented cast members to keep you entertained. My next favorite is the new Nemo (puppetry) show over at Animal Kingdom. Such beautiful colors, and very well done! (Air conditioned bldg helps a lot too on those hot humid days to refresh you)

Guess the kid in me, comes out with the Magical parades WDW has and have filmed every parade for back home memories on those long winter dreary days, no matter how many times I watch them I find something different that I have not seen before.

I am going to miss Pleasure Island, which was a required stop for us, each trip to the Adventurers Club. KUNGALOOSH!

Guess we will spend more time at Disney Quest now in place of the Adventurers Club. It was fun while it lasted.

Animal Kingdom is by far my favorite park ,( I am a BIG animal lover of all kind) I could spend hours watching the animals , (especially the gorillas when they play ) and the Vet center watching procedures , the back stage tour there is very informative and educational to all giving up close opportunity to see and learn about animals that we would never see at home .

EPCOT is a great learning experience also while being very entertaining, I love seeing bits of each Country in World showcase especially at the Christmas holidays when they all display how they celebrate the holidays and the Innoventions section when they bring in new technology. It’s amazing how much guests can learn (especially the kiddies) without feeling the "pain" of getting taught something new.

We also have eaten our way around the world sampling different foods over the years. Living Seas, and Le' Cellier top the list there for us.

The Resorts are very well themed again , my favorite is the Animal Kingdom lodge , nothing better then grabbing my first cup of tea in the am before sunrise , while the remaining members still sawing logs away in their sleep , slipping out to the balcony , watching the sunrise, watching and listening to the animals wake up for the day ! SO Relaxing, makes me feel like I am NOT in a theme park atmosphere. At night the around the fire listening to the Story teller is a great way to sit back and relax from a long day at the parks.

Why do we keep returning year after year..........where else could we as adults bring out the kid in our hearts better and not be judged as " Weird / Strange" for enjoying life, living our childhood over through the Magic of WDW. These are our sanity trips, getting away from the hustle and bustle of the “real world " if only for a week or two at time. No doorbells, No unwanted phone calls from someone selling something, No job demands... no strict schedules to keep ...just a great fantasy place to refresh / revive us to face another few months in "Real life” till next trip woot

Thanks Teekee for my sig script

~Ok, another adult here, who loves, loves, loves, to relive her childhood at WDW~ There is no other place where you can take your little boy to see Buzz Lightyear (his favorite at 5 yrs old), Peter Pan and Wendy (at 6 yrs old), and Pirates of the Carribean (at 7 yrs old) and feel like you are reliving it all again through his eyes! The wonder, excitement, and pure fantasy of it all is so exhilirating, and basically...just plain fun! :D We try to go at least once a year with my son and once just my hubby and I for some adult time to do non-kiddie rides and see out of the way attractions like all the little museums and galleries around the parks.

Also, I go once every two years by myself to WDW when my husband attends required classes to update his licenses in Orlando. I start my day with coffee and a light breakfast at whatever resort we are staying at and then to the Magic Kingdom to watch the opening ceremonies of the park for the day, (I cry when the pixie dust is thrown out every time Rolling Eyes ). Then it's off to serious shopping on Main Street b/c the shops are deserted and I can have anything I buy sent to the room if I don't want to carry it around with me. I usually people watch my way through the park, ride the Haunted Mansion and Pirates, and just eat snacks at a whim, lol. Sometimes, I will transfer over to Epcot for a couple of hours and repeat the above for the afternoon. Then back to the room for a quick rest and wait for hubby to come home from classes and have a nice supper in the room or at the resort restaurant. It's a wonderful time for me at least! Hope this helps! wavy

What!!?? The giant pickles!!!??? I looked everywhere for those in WDW and was looked at rather funny when I asked the shop keepers about them!!
Oh there is nothing better then an ice cold Disneyland pickle while waiting in line for the Matterhorn on a hot southern california day...(I did notice the last time I was there that they have gotten a tad smaller and they are no longer the super yummy dill pickle they once were. They taste like a big Claussen pickle now :()

Oh and by the by, I have this crazy urge to jump in the car and drive 18 hours so I can go to Disneyland now...man am I homesick thanks to this thread!!!
